Poid Mahovlich – terraforming
Spanning an entire sim on Princeton University’s virtual campus, DynaFleur is the kind of experience that truly is possible only in Second Life.

I was invited to collaborate in this project by Douglas to create a terraform that captured what he envisaged for the sim space. We talked at great length & reviewed daily the progress & development of the land as it was twisted and coaxed into its form – in the end we were both extremely happy. I don’t use 3D tools – I terraform by hand & in game – reason being I feel more connected to the SL pixel earth this way, and that is important to me.
I found the project to be a challenge, to get the scale & feel in place took time. The small stream running under the main construction was also part of Douglas’s requests, with a thin mist covering the land below. The evolution of the sim Terra was both magical & mystical ...
Above all however it was such great fun project to do – with new friendships springing into life, Desi, Dizzy & Persis – Douglas I already knew :) We first met via the NMC at the aho Museum I was working as curator/Dean of Arts there at the time; later we hooked up again as his flower ball was also as Burning Life 07 event; I was a Lead Org for craftsmen and also worked for the DMV (department of Mutant Vehicles)
Sure thing we are indeed an odd creative madcap collective bunch but it worked out well ! And here's to my love of terraforming and the adventures that await me and the pixels many ... a sometimes overlooked element of sim development plans !

Persis Trilling: Liaison To Princeton had this to say
''I think that apart from its obvious visual and aural appeal, the DynaFleur represents what is best in Second Life in terms of the collaboration of the artists who made it. In real life, anyone who explores Second Life in a professional way is probably also interested in things such as open source projects, and the promise of the incredible synergy that collective intelligence and cooperation can achieve. Here, a beautiful, immersive environment is perfectly blended with the terrain and soundscape. If four talented people had not worked here with the ideals that epitomize the best of a global virtual community, a project such as the DynaFleur would have been impossible''
